    The filer media material and prodcuing methods make the activated carbon different. The raw materials decide the features and specility of different activated carbon-wood activated carbon, coal activated carbon and Coconut Shell based Activated Carbon.

　　Generally, most activated carbon are produced with coal. Not the activation but the materials affect the function of activated carbon.

　　For example, Coconut Shell Activated carbon is better in drinking water treatment because it contains greater microporosity.
