Powder Activated Carbon

Activated carbon can be made from a wide range of source materials: natural products such as coal, coconut shells, wood, peat, or bone, and synthetic materials such as polymers. The material is carbonized and then activated by treatment in a high temperature steam environment to produce an extensive network of pores. These pores provide sites for the adsorption of chemical contaminants in gases or liquids.
